Rangers consolidate top spot

HARARE - Zifa Eastern Region Division One League pacesetters Prime Rangers consolidated their lead at the top of the table despite being held to a goalless draw by Gaza Gunners at the weekend.

Rangers now top the log standings with 22 points, two ahead of second-placed Mutare City, who managed to maintain pressure on the log leaders after beating Mutare Poly 4-2.

With 10 games played in the Eastern Region, Prime Rangers are yet to taste defeat, winning six matches and drawing four.

Former Premiership side, Masvingo United continued with their fine form after beating Renco Mine 2-0.

Una-Una are now on third position on the log standingd, with 18 points, four behind the og leaders.

In the Zifa Central Region Division One, ZPC Munyati also maintained their position at the top of the log after beating Midlands State University 1-0.

With the win, ZPC now top the log standings with 24 points, three above second-placed Tongogara, who beat Boarder Strikers 1-0.

Bulawayo City shot to the top of the Zifa Southern Region Division One League table courtesy of a 4-0 victory over Mpumalanga.

City took full advantage of former log leaders ZPC Hwange goalless draw against Casmyn.

With 12 rounds of action in the division, Bulawayo City now lead the log standings with 26 points while Bulawayo Chiefs and third-placed ZPC Hwange trail on goal difference.
