Bhasikiti slams Grace, Mphoko

HARARE - Former Masvingo Provincial State minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti has lashed out at First Lady Grace Mugabe and Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, saying the two have no authority to expel him from Zanu PF.

Bhasikiti told the Daily News in an unsolicited interview on Sunday that he will not be expelled from the ruling party by a politburo that is packed with people who were illegally appointed to their positions.

In defiance of last week’s Zanu PF decision to expel him along with seven other senior officials from the party, the outspoken former politburo member said it was unacceptable that people who do not even know him are now pronouncing judgment on him.

The expulsion of Bhasikiti from Zanu PF has already triggered intense jostling for his soon-to-be-vacant Mwenezi East constituency.

However, the incumbent is resolute he will see out his term until 2018.

“At the moment, no one can expel anyone from the party because the chairperson Simon Khaya Moyo and the secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa have never sat down and considered my case,” he fumed.

“The outcome of the congress has been challenged and I only recognise a disciplinary committee headed by Cde Moyo and Cde Mutasa,” Bhasikiti added.

Mutasa, the former State Security minister, apart from dragging Zanu PF to court seeking nullification of the 2014 December congress, still defiantly refers to himself as the secretary for administration of the ruling party.

But on the other hand, Khaya Moyo has accepted his fate and his less influential position as a spokesperson of the party.

But with the ruling party on a warpath and purging all people aligned to ousted former Vice President Joice Mujuru, Bhasikiti said there is a desperate attempt to create a contingent of bootlicking MPs.

“The new Zanu PF is trying to find new MPs but I cannot be expelled from Parliament because the congress that brought this Zanu PF was illegal,” Bhasikiti said.

“When we were elected in 2003, we never heard of Mphoko, Grace or Togarepi. I don’t listen to them. Who is Mphoko? Who is Grace? I can only sensitise the judiciary system so that they stand guided accordingly.”

Mphoko and Grace are both members of the ruling party’s disciplinary committee that has so far expelled dozens of former party heavyweights.

But the victims, most of them accused of siding with Mujuru, claim due process was not followed as they were not invited to defend themselves.

Asked if he would succeed with the court case after the failure by Mutasa, the former Headlands MP and Temba Mliswa, the former Hurungwe West MP to have the courts spare them from parliamentary recall, Bhasikiti said he has so many options.

“Should the judiciary fail to act, I know the people who elected me will act,” he said.

“I am a full member of Zanu PF and will serve the people who voted me into office. People like Mphoko and Grace are out of the question, does he even know me? Ana Grace Bhasikiti vanomuzivirepi? (Where does Grace know me from?). Our recognised leaders never sat in that meeting that expelled us.”

we should not support the ejected members of zanu neother should we feel pity for or sympathise them. They must taste how it feels to be denied a chance to elaborate to or convince the electorate. in mu opinion, it is the greatest cowardice to condemn a system that one has been part of, simply because you have been expelled. ngawanzwe kuti zvino taster seyi. morgan lock the door from inside and reinforce with an iron bar to never admit the vomit from zanu; remember its gamatox vomited by weevils, so if you eat(accept) you have drank from a poisoned chalice! Things Fall Apart..the centre cannot hold. Defiance and definace is what we need at this time. ''Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be too moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much.''

Bhasikiti, you were harassing sugar companies in your province, looting to feed Zanu people when Chingwizi villagers were going hungry! Bhasikiti you are from the wrong basket!

@garikayi, it would have been in order if you had referenced the text to Alan Paton. 'who can enjoy the seventy years when there is so much fear in the land'

bhasikiti should move on, so what wakadzingwa mu zhanu? All these expelled members are not telling us the real reason of their bitterness, i think one would be happy not to return to that awful bunch of zhanus! Why would one want to return where he is clearly not wanted?

obama4ever - 3 June 2015

what we should know is why are they being expelled, they wanted to change the system jus like morgan wanted to do but because of cowards like khaya moyo who spilled the beans

pombi - 3 June 2015

If they real want to change things from Mugabe's way why wait to be expelled , they were suppose to resign , you can't teach a old dog some new tricks , Mujuru and company must retire from politics , they have stolen enough wealth , everyone in Zanu Pf is a thief , its the hiding shade for thieves , look at what is happening to Gomwe , he was suppose to learn from Kunaka but eish , they only realize when the leadership dump them , this country has laws you might abuse it but one day you will feel it . They say the law is stubborn you imppliment it and it will work against you one day . Mujuru and company for the sack of Zim politics stay away pliz , we had enough of you .

This guy is wasting his energy, money and the like. He is now like an unwanted pile of rubbish in ZANU PF. He should just take it easy and go home to rest. Alternatively, he can form his own political party because he is unwanted. He can use his remaining energies in doing something productive. ZANU yaramba kuzorwa madaka nebasikoro
