DStv thump Gunners

HARARE - DStv Rangers handed Yadah Gunners their first defeat of the Northern Region Division One season with a clinical 2-0 win here yesterday.

The visitors got their first goal as early as the second minute through Boss Chigandari while second half substitute, Herbert Mhundwe tapped in from close range to score the second 12 minutes from time.

Gunners head coach, Tapfumaneyi Dodo said his team did not play as a unit but hopes they bounce back in their next assignment.

“We were just out of sorts; we didn’t play our normal football and this is not what we expect from my players,” he said.

“Most of them were completely not in the game at all and if you give your opponents an unnecessary goal early in the match you put yourself under unnecessary pressure.

DStv Rangers coach Newton Chitehwe praised his players for a job well done.

“I think the players played well, Gunners is a good team and when you are playing against a good side you don’t need to motivate them,” he said.

“My players wanted to prove to their counterparts that they can play the game better than them.”
