More accolades for Crocker

HARARE - University of Southern California (USC) golf coach Chris Zambri has hailed Zimbabwe’s golf sensation Sean Crocker as an “incredible” talent.

Zambri’s praises came after Crocker added another feather to his cap by being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year on Friday.

The 19-year-old golfer is currently enjoying a thrilling run of form decorated by recently winning the US Collegiate Golf Circuit.

He leads the USC men’s golf team with a 70.46 stroke average through 37 rounds, while posting 17 rounds in the 60s.

His illustrious season so far also includes finishing among the top 10 in seven tournaments.

The junior golf ace is currently ranked 33rd in Golfstats head-to-head player standings, which is fifth among all freshmen.

“Sean has been an incredible player for us this year,” Zambri told the USC website.

“From our first event of the season to the Pac-12 Championships this week, Sean has played great golf. He will be a key player for us heading into the upcoming NCAA Regional Championship.”

Crocker, who lives in Westlake Village, California, is now the sixth USC golf team player to earn the award.

The Pac-12 golf awards and the All-Pac-12 Team are voted on by the Conference head golf coaches.
