We need a good start: Sweswe

HARARE - Castle Lager Premiership debutants Tsholotsho FC are targeting a positive start to their 2015 Premiership season when they take on Harare City at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow.

Lizwe Sweswe’s charges won promotion into the top flight league after winning the second-tier Zifa Southern Region Division One last season ahead of second-placed Technosphere and third-placed Black Boots.

“We don’t know much about Harare City and they also don’t know much about us, but as a new team in the Premier League we want to have a positive start,” Sweswe told the Daily News yesterday.

“I think Harare City is not a small team and we know that this will be not an easy match but we will put maximum effort for us to win.

“Our major aim is to avoid relegation this season and after that we can fight for honours.”

Tsholotsho are still silent on the transfer market which is set to be closed next week but Sweswe is not concerned with his side’s lack of activity and is pleased with the arsenal at his disposal.

“We are not going to change our last season’s squad. I’m confident that these young boys will do wonders in the top flight league this coming season.

“Look, as a club we need to play a crucial role in the development of Zimbabwe football and we only achieve this by giving these juniors a chance to showcase their talents.”

Tsholotsho have however, lost the services of last season’s chief striker Edmore Chirambadare who signed for Chicken Inn.

Chirambadare won the 2014 Zifa Southern Region Golden Boot with 23 goals.
