Hilarious DVD on the cards

HARARE - Comrade Fatso and several leading local comedians have teamed up to create a DVD titled Seventy Five Percent.

On the no-holds-barred DVD set to be released next month, Comrade Fatso, who was born Sam Monro, collaborated with popular jesters Michael K and Clive Chigubu.

The DVD covers issues that tackle taboos in politics, race and religion as well as topical subjects like alcoholism and sex.

Comrade Fatso has hailed his partnership with 2014 National Arts Merit Award (Nama) winner Clive Chigubu and Michael K, one of the pioneers of stand-up comedy in Zimbabwe.

“The DVD, produced by Magamba Network in partnership with Nafuna TV, is set to be released later this month,” said the hilarious Comrade Fatso, the producer of the DVD.

“The DVD features back stage interviews with the comedians as well as the blazing hot live performances captured at Reps Theatre main stage.

“It gives a good insight into the growing stand-up comedy scene in Zimbabwe. And it’s a lot of fun to watch! I think comedy lovers will really enjoy it.”
