Grace is calling the shots?

EDITOR — The expulsion of Didymus Mutasa and his nephew Temba Mliswa from Zanu PF soon after First Lady Grace Mugabe’s arrival after a long period outside the country is ample proof that the First Lady now wields a lot of power in Zanu PF and is calling the shots.

While many might regard this as wishful thinking, President Robert Mugabe’s former office worker is now poised to replace her husband as leader of both Zanu PF and Zimbabwe.

The way Grace handled herself in public at the airport uncharacteristically opening up about her medical history and her newly-found cool composure befitting of a senior leader and her place in the sitting arrangement of the presidium in the politburo meeting all suggest that she is aiming higher.

Mutasa and company are losing more ground as the purges continue since by-elections are coming in their constituencies.

We are going to witness a slow but effective purge of all the so-called 100 MPs loyal to Mujuru.

Evil prevails when good men do nothing about it.

As Zimbabweans wait for the famous lawsuit by Mutasa, Grace Mugabe is busy consolidating her power base in Zanu PF.

As the opposition parties fight for power against themselves and as the rest of Zimbabweans idolise political personalities, Mugabe’s Zanu PF is marching on.

Grace Mugabe In-charge In the past, people have questioned if Robert Mugabe was still in-charge, that question could have been answered last week on Grace's return from the Middle East where she was recovering from an operation. All security chefs and VPs and other minister were at the Harare International Airport to welcome the first female president back home. Those who missed the bus to the airport like Mutasa have been fired from the party and those perceived to be singing the wrong tune like Dokora will soon find out their fate as Queen Bee is back and continuing with scorched earth policy. Not only is Grace going after 'rebels', she has extended her sights on taking over companies such as Telcel, Zimbabwe, the company jointly owned by her former lover James Makamba and his Egyptian partners. The frontmen in this decibel is one other than Philip Chiyangwa and Mugabe's nephew Leo. All those not bootlicking to Mazowe crush will soon been crushed and buried dead or alive. As the country gears for by-elections in Mt Darwin, people have been warned that voting against Zanu PF, will be tantamount to suicide as both Grace and Mnangagwa have been hinting on crushing opposition forces. The following weeks will cement whether Grace is the real president or just a front for the faction within Zanu PF. Ephraim Chinana & Edwin G Rance London
