Zhakata to hold free show

HARARE - Zora star Leonard Zhakata will perform for free at Dandaro Inn tomorrow night as a show of gratitude to music fans for helping him claim the top two positions on the Radio Zimbabwe Coca Cola Top 50.

Zhakata’s Dhonza Makomborero and Dollar Boy were number one and two respectively on the annual music charts.

The veteran musician will share the stage with Talking Guitars.

Zambezi News Season Three to be launched tonight

ZAMBEZI News Season Three, which features top South African comedians John Vlismas and Kagiso Lediga, will be launched tonight at the Eastgate Ster Kinekor Cinemas.

The satirical comedy show, which features comical news presenters who delve into everyday issues ranging from politics to sport, has also incorporated Zimbabwean musicians Ba Shupi and Tehn Diamond.

The Zambezi News cast, which includes Samm “Comrade Fatso” Monro, Michael K and Outspoken, had an eventful 2014 that saw them feature on Late Night News with Loyiso Gola as well as the Bush Fire Festival Swaziland.

One of the highlights of 2014 was the Zambezi News cast’s tour of Hollywood in November last year.

According to Comrade Fatso, the executive producer of the comedy show, the new season deals with hot topics such as corruption, land reform, indigenisation and race.

“It is a really great new season in which we experiment with different formats and introduce new characters,” he said.

Comrade Fatso added that members of the public will access the new comedy series on the Zambezi News website, Youtube, Facebook, WhatsApp and on DVD.

Soul Jah Love, Seh Calaz descend on Mutare

Zimdancehall stars Soul Jah Love and Seh Calaz, whose rivalry has become a major talking point on the local music scene, will both perform at The Platinum formerly called Pick “n” Save.

Seh Calaz and his Mabhanditi clan will perform tonight while his nemesis Soul Jah Love and his Conquering Family will take over the stage tomorrow.
