Zanu PF fails to expel Mutasa

HARARE - President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF yesterday failed to expel former secretary for administration  Didymus Mutasa, resolving to refer his matter to the disciplinary committee.

Simon Khaya Moyo, the Zanu PF spokesperson, told journalists yesterday soon after a politburo meeting at the party’s headquarters that Zanu PF’s highest decision making body had resolved that Mutasa should be brought before a disciplinary committee.

“The matter of the former secretary for administration of our party Cde Didymus Mutasa was also raised and has been referred for consideration or for deliberation to the new national disciplinary committee,” he said.

“As I have said, there have been entrusted to deliberate on the issue of Cde Didymus Mutasa in reference to the utterances and remarks that he has made about the congress and of course about the party,” added Moyo.

The Zanu PF disciplinary committee will be chaired by Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko.

“You aware that after every congress a national disciplinary committee must be established and His Excellency has put up one that will be led by VP Mphoko. The committee members would be Cdes Patrick Chinamasa, Saviour Kasukuwere, Kembo Mohadi, First Lady Grace Mugabe and Pupurayi Togarepi,” he said.

Mutasa three weeks ago wrote a strong worded statement dismissing his party’s congress held last year as a fraud.

What descipline can Kasukuwere talk about? Grace Mugabe ? ..and who is this Togarepi? Hapana Nyaya apa. These people do not have the needed acumen to confront Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo. These are mental and political midgets.

The only discipline they can do is to force him to drink a ''drink'' like they did to Nyagumbo and a few this space

The pannel consist of two Ex- Zipra combatants. Its a very interesting politically pannel that is about to rubber stamp the expulsion of zanu pf founding member. Mugabe and zanu pf are so cunning and dirty with their internal political matrix.

I can not see the logic behind Mutasa appearing before the "dead" committee. Its composition does not appeal to erstwhile combatants who bravely fought for the liberation of this country. Ex combatants where are you? Remember we resolutely agreed that no man or woman without liberation war credentials will lay claim over the throne, preside over issues of governance or condemn fellow comrades. Are Grace, Patrick, Saviour (not sure of Pupurai) ex combatants? Our party has been hijacked. Lets stand up against the mafikizolos before its too late. Didymus should be tried and disciplined by those who suffered and endured the liberation struggle

I can not believe that with the strong comradeship that CDE Mugabe and CDE Mutasa had in between them during the zimbabwe war struggle to recent days has been washed away by victitious manipulated stories by people that never even carried the vision that the two men agreed and have always worked tirelessly and then when they are getting to a destiny as agreed in Mozambique then mafikazolo just wakes up and spoils the broth of the soup. Please lets not take advantage of our parents's ages the we starting telling them that

Mugabe must go. He is a source of problems in the Party, in Zimbabwe, in the Region and now on the continental body. It's not just the west which is against him but the majority of African, even a large number of people who call themselves pan-africanists now distance themselves from him. This quarrelsome former teacher has nothing new and valuable to offer. Yes Mutasa should take him on.
