1st Street building faces collapse: Magaya

HARARE - Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) leader Walter Magaya on Sunday predicted that a building would soon collapse in Harare’s First Street.

Magaya told thousands of his congregants, who included Zimdancehall sensation Tocky Vibes, during a church service in Waterfalls that he had been shown a vision of a building collapsing in the city centre.

The celebrity preacher said the building, which he did not identify, would collapse because of a mysterious fire and urged his flock to pray hard.

“I have been getting this vision for some time,” Magaya said.

“I see a fire, a fire that will destroy a building near First Street. May we all raise our hands in prayer so that danger will be averted so that there will be no deaths, no injuries,” he added to thunderous approval from his church faithful.

Magaya’s prophecy comes less than a week after he predicted good fortunes for the economy this year.

In his New Year message delivered on the eve of 2015, Magaya said the country would experience an economic boom as more minerals will be discovered.

“So there shall be ways of discovering Africa, for instance I see new minerals being discovered in Africa….I am saying we have reached a point whereby you are going to be fruitful rather than going down as the previous years, but in 2015 the world is going to recognise Africa more and Zimbabwe in particular,” Magaya  said.

Meanwhile, Tocky Vibes stole the limelight at the sermon after being asked to perform by PHD members.

The sharp lyricist whipped the congregants into a frenzy.

He later apologised for missing some church services.

“I am sorry to you all as I have not been coming to church. My sincere apologies as the schedule was tight,” said Tocky Vibes before breaking into song.

“PHD yaenda nenyika, yoh, yoh, yoh, yoh, yoh….,” he sang much to the delight of the congregants.

Diibulaanyika - 7 January 2015

People, hear me. Magaya is not a prophet of God. He is a false prophet if you want to call him prophet. He is a doomsday prophet. Even if the building collapses that does not make him a servant of the Most High God. All these guys with Nigerian and Ghanaian 'spiritual fathers' are fake prophets. But as is always the case, they will deceive and always find those willing to be deceived.

This country has never been short of Gospel singers, why a dancehall artist would be found more fitting by this Bible holding enterpreuner called Magaya is a puzzling mystery. So by asking people to pray hard, is he trying to avert the collapse of the building? People DO NOT be hoodwinked by these rich seekers who will say anything to get your hard earned dollar and turn to The true God of love through His Son Jesus Christ. Heaven help us all.

Lord forgive those who don't know. It common from the beginning of Christianity that men of god are forsaken. They are called names. What is wrong with these prophecies. They be forgiven. Jesus asked for forgiveness to those who crucified him. MBIRI KUNA JESU

during the last days many false prophets will emerge, the likes of magaya and makandiwa. ava varume including tb joshua vanoita kutamba nezita ramwari. year in year out they have been prophesying that zimbabwe will prosper but the country continue to plunge deeper into the slime murky waters of poverty, nothing is improving except the life styles of these thieves who are robbing their sheepish congregants by forcing them to contribute the "envelope tithes". godfather wamagaya tb joshua akaurayisa vanhu vakawanda kuSCOAN kwake iye magaya a dozen innocent souls perished vakachekereswa after a stampede kukwekwe. uyu makandiwa is talking about zimbabwe prospering but nothing, zero, zilch has happened since he started his rubbish prophesies. we are sick and tired of your occult prophesies, tiitirei mushe.

cde churucheminzwa - 7 January 2015

Oh good Jesus, all these prophets! They 'see' all sorts of things, and all those events are just common sense to anyone who reads newspapers and follows the news. This is madness. Why would any normal person prophesy the collapse of a building and not rush to the government department to point out the building in order to stop the death of people? Being such a false prophet, he could easily put a bomb in that building in order to continue with his false mission of false prophesies. I have no idea why people are so easily hoodwinked into all sorts of stupid beliefs. I believe this is how these false prophets use the poverty of the people in order to make money. The government should stop these rascals through a law prohibiting prophesies. People should go to church to worship and not to watch some charlatan pretending to be a prophet.

Magaya and other Prosperity prophets are false in the name of real Almighty god. They are using black magic powers, occultism and traditional herbs + oil to induce and enhance their psychic vision. They do see only bad things coming. Any jerk and jil can perfom what they are doing as long you go through orientation. The underworld dark side of human beings on this planet are aware of use of vast nature reources on this planet. The equation to attain such powers is kept secret. One can actually see through the person whole body Like X-ray or scan.Thats why these false prophets indulge in marathon adultery with female members because they cant help it. They are just hiding behind a bible, in reality they are some kind of an advanced Sangoma/N'anga. I will treat the issue of the building seriously. Prosperity in zimbabwe 2015 to me is just like a motivational garbage. Bond coins, train catching fire, Floods, closing companies, all this cant be prosperity. The poverty in the country can make people believe in anything.

X-MAN IV - 7 January 2015

@ cde churucheminzwa - Remember when a prophecy is given it is fulfilled at the appointed time. Whose appointed time? God's appointed time. The prophesy about Jesus' return was given 2 000 years ago and people of our time are still waiting. The disciples/apostles thought he would return during their time. "...with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day." (Ref. 2 Peter 3 v 8).

Tindo - 7 January 2015

Recently Magaya snatched somebody 's woman and poked her too much and then bribed the man to drop the case against him which he had brought before the courts so as to save his church. It this is not satan walking infront of us what is it?

Zimbabweans, Please I plead with you. Open your minds and see that you are being misled by this and many other false prophets proliferating in Zim right now. They are taking advantage of poverty and desperation to suck people further into a cycle of destitution, when you get asked to donate the little that you are earning to these charlatans.

Goreriyariya - 8 January 2015
