5 shortlisted for DeMbare job

HARARE - Zimbabwean champions Dynamos have shortlisted five coaches from the list of more than 30 applicants hoping to replace four-time title winning gaffer Calisto Pasuwa.

The five are being engaged in talks to assess their demands and conditions before picking the most suitable coach who is scheduled to be unveiled at a press conference tomorrow.

“We hope to appoint the new coach on Thursaday (tomorrow). We want to give him enough time to prepare for the new season,” Chikengezha said.

The new Dynamos coach will replace Calisto Pasuwa, who announced his departure last month from the record Zimbabwean champions after guiding the Glamour Boys to a fourth straight league title.

Pasuwa’s contract expires at the end of the month, but says he will decline a new offer, in a move seen as protest over the manner he has been occasionally treated by the club’s executive.

The Daily News understands that Pasuwa’s former assistant, Tonderai Ndiraya, Triangle’s Biggie Zuze and former head coach David Mandigora are in the running for one of the highest-profile jobs in local football.

Former Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu is also strongly linked with a move to the Glamour Boys.

The new coach will name his own backroom staff.
