Zim beauty scoops two international titles

HARARE - Zimbabwean beauty queen Zinhle Kim Dube scooped the Miss Cultural International and Miss Heritage Africa titles at the Miss Heritage International pageant that recently took place in Nepal.

The Plumtree-born model raised the country’s flag high at the international pageant which ran from November 25 to December 5.

Despite losing the main Miss Heritage International title to Hla Yin Kyae from Myanmar, the 22-year-old Zimbabwean is delighted to have won two category titles on her debut international pageant.

“Coming back as Miss Cultural International and Miss Heritage Africa means a lot to me and my country because the competition was stiff,” Dube told the Daily News.

“I dedicate the beauty titles to the whole country. I was particularly happy and honoured to be crowned Miss Cultural International because the award is a fitting reward for Zimbabwe’s rich cultural history.”

The University of South Africa (Unisa) law student relished the way she eloquently gave an overview of Zimbabwe’s cultural beauty and tourism potential during the pageant which attracted 28 models from 12 countries.

“I truly deserved the category titles. As the Zimbabwean ambassador at the pageant, I did my best to represent the country well and share with the world the beauty and history of Zimbabwe,” said Dube.

“I would like to thank Joy at Harare-based Uzuri Creations Harare for ensuring that I was appropriately dressed for the Miss Heritage International pageant. Zimbabwe is my home and I wear it like a priceless chain.”

Though Dube insists that “Zimbabwe is the most beautiful country in the world,” she conceded that she was left awestruck by the natural splendour of Nepal.

“The Miss Heritage International pageant was a life changing event held in a unique country. Nepal is very beautiful; it is a humble and hospitable country,” said Dube.
