Farai Tapfuma, the tournament director, said:

“We are now ready to host the event, everything is now in place. The tournament will be conducted in five different age categories namely; Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18, girls and boys. The continuous hosting of these tournaments has helped sharpen skills of the kids.

“Participants are drawn from all the tennis-playing provinces of the country and players stand to gain vital career points since this a national event that has been sanctioned by Tennis Zimbabwe.

“We will, however, have some underprivileged kids from the high density suburb areas also participating in the tournament free of charge as we intend to spread the game to every part of the country.”
