Mugabe to announce deputies

HARARE - President Robert Mugabe today convened an extraordinary Central Committee meeting at the Zanu PF headquarters where he is expected to announce a new-look presidium.

He is expected to announce his two deputies and the national chairman, ending speculation that has swirled since his dismissal of his deputy Joice Mujuru.

The 90-year-old leader is also expected to name members of the politburo during the meeting.

All delegates to the meeting have been asked to surrender their cellphones.

It ain't over till it's over, this being in relation to Mujuru and cronies' fate. With more than 10 ministers, 9 Provincial Chairpersons and a host of other influential people in her sack, she should dust herself up and face a new day. She might need to consult with others who left the party in a huff as well, people like Margaret Dongo, Simba Makoni, Dumiso Dabengwa and even More gain Tsvangirai on the way forward. We need fresh elections and a people oriented ruling party to take Zimbabwe to it's rightful place as one of the most prosperous nations on the continent of Africa. That dynasty in the making has no future in the present dynamics of politics, it is so 19th century.

This simplistic project has Chinese handwriting all over. Mugabe was told to ditch all moderates before he can dream of any assistance. Mugabe is desparate to show western countires that he can do without them and is thus, easy prey for the canny Chinese. Now they have him by the balls.

The young woman, vicious and reckless, has taken over matters of state. Her plan is to force the old man to dump his close associates of many decades so she can be in control. I would not be surprised if she is named Vice President today. But I cannot hesitate to say this is Mugabe doom brought about by a power-hungry wife.
