Dynamos insincere on Pasuwa

HARARE - The Dynamos executive led by Kenny Mubaiwa has been hypocritical in the manner they have treated coach Calisto Pasuwa.

Since taking over the club in August 2011, Pasuwa has been a revelation by winning the Castle Premiership an unprecedented four times in a row.

Despite his success, the 43-year-old has not been appreciated by the DeMbare executive that has tried at every turn to boot him out.

Last Sunday, a teary-eyed Pasuwa told reporters at the National Sports Stadium that he was leaving the club after leading them to their 21st league title.

Pasuwa revealed that he had not received any support from the club bosses, who he alleged were sabotaging his efforts to retain the league title.

All the leading football personalities have rightfully acknowledged that what Pasuwa has done is a historic feat that will be hard to follow.

But it was disappointing to hear Mubaiwa disparaging Pasuwa’s achievement saying “he needs to win both the Gushungo Victory Cup and the Mbada Diamonds Cup to be considered a legend”.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see that Mubaiwa and his colleagues are being consumed by jealous due to the plaudits their coach is receiving for his efforts.

The Dynamos executive should have been sincere and thanked Pasuwa for the wonderful job he has done under such harsh conditions instead of bad-mouthing him in public.

The club bosses’ main priority at the moment should have been to sit down with the coach to tie him down to a longer contract.

It is clear that Pasuwa would have been keen to extend his stay at the club but the way Mubaiwa’s executive treated him has forced him to call it a day at the famous blue and white club.

Finding a replacement might prove easy considering the lure the club has but finding a coach with a similar calibre to that of Pasuwa will not be a simple task.

Dynamos are a volatile institution that needs someone with a cool head and who also understands the club’s politics to be at the helm.

vaMubayiwa ndeve zanupf and they behave exactly like zanupf. What has he achieved kunze kweshabhin yake yaanoti hotel ku Zengeza were he is usually the customer. Such people don't make Dembare a great team. Whether he likes it or not pasuwa is a legend, but Mubayiwa is a liliputian in soccer. Saka akaroodza mwana kaviri.
