Vote of no confidence against Kaukonde

HARARE - Ray Kaukonde, the Zanu Mashonaland East provincial chairman, was yesterday booted out after the local executive passed a vote of no confidence in him.

While Kaukonde was unreachable for comment yesterday, Phineas Chihota, the secretary general, has been appointed the acting provincial chairman.

Chihota, who read out the resolution backed by 27 members of the executive,  is accused of abusing women, promoting factionalism and being hell-bent on working against first lady Grace Mugabe.

Kaukonde, who has in recent weeks come under sustained attacks by war veterans, was suspended together with provincial political commissar, Tendai Makuinde and his deputy, George Katsande; the deputy secretary for Security, Washington Musvaire; the deputy secretary for Finance, Felix Mhona; secretary for Education, Taurai Pasirai, the provincial administrator, Peter Murwira and Boniface Mutize.

Kaukonde and his team are the latest executive to be suspended after being seen as Mugabe critics and have been accused by Mujuru's rivals, including Mugabe's wife, of plotting a challenge to Africa's oldest leader at an elective congress set for December 2.

Being expelled from the party ,suspended or other forms of victimization doesnt take the merit.Mudhara people are tired of you you are no longer wanted even from within your own house.Last but not least i think we need to remind Cde Mugabe that he is not Zanu pf but also a mere member of the party like the others whom he is busy victimizing not for in the interest of the party but to serve his dictatorial appetites. One thing for sure his day is coming.Apparently it is just by the corner. We now just need to unite first and foremost as a nation for we have one common enemy.we cant tolerate privatization of our party and our country by few uncouth individuals.Long live Zanupf ,Pamberi ne Gammatox

Of course this is not privatisation of zanu but just a certain faction of zanu...you make it seem as though there are no other people who genuinely do not want these guys.I talk from a business point of view,Ray is reaping...so corrupt ,does not pay his bills and some of us are unemployed because he never paid his bills. What I dont understand is when the same was done to Ngwena in 2004 where were you...its only privatisation when its your faction.

Zanu Pf is splitting into two antagonistic camps right through all its "RANKS" i.e.Ministers, War Vets Youths, women, Retired Army Officers, War Corroborators (e.g.Chinoz), Ex-detainees, Chimbwidos, Heads of Parastatals, Benefactors of Jambanja (owners of multiple farms ceased from Whites), Illegal owners of peri-urban lands such as Harare South (Gomwe v Masha----), and even Civil Servants, ghost workers included, who owe their jobs to PATRONAGE. We know that Mugabe has degrees in violence and is yet to lose a battle. But this time I will bet my last $1-00 Gushungo is going to lose.
