Krog wins Platinum Classic

HARARE - St George's golf sensation Stuart Krog shrugged off the challenge of Pride Sembo in a tightly contested play-off to win the Platinum Golf Classic at Norton Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

Sembo set up the sudden death play-off after firing a scintillating 67 to catch up with Krog who closed on three-under par 69.

The pair was effectively tied on eight-under par 208 at the close of final round.

Kieren Vincent finished third on three under par 213 having shot rounds of 70, 70 and 73.

Doctor Maphosa closed on fourth place on level par 216, four shots clear of Jack Allard, who finished on four-over par 224.

Howard Bauti closed with a 76 to finish sixth on eight over par, while David Amm finished seventh a further shot adrift.

The Platinum Golf Classic attracted a field of 33 players and was hosted by the Mashonaland West Golf Union.
