Jaz confident of squad

HARARE - Judo Association of Zimbabwe (Jaz) is confident that their squad will leave a mark at the African Union Sports Council Region Five Under-20 Youth Games next month.

Bulawayo will host the Games next month between 4 and 15.

Jaz president Debbie Jeans is confident with the ammunition at her disposal and believes the team has what it takes to make an impression.

“We have  prepared well for  the  event  and  I am  confident  that the team  will make  an  impression. The team is scheduled to travel to Bulawayo by bus on Thursday 27th November. We are hoping to have a “Dry Run” test competition with the squads,” said Jeans.

“It was also an opportunity to thank every judoka who was part of the squad training, the coaches, managers, parents, administrators and the International Judo Federation, who donated the competition and practice tatamis as well as a full set of competition IJF approved judo gi’s for the event.”

Men: Alfred Nago, George Tsvande, Allan Ganje, Benjamin Mashayi, Takudzwa Chikomo, Nigel Makuna, Roderick Mubayiwa, Gabriel Sipapate.

Women: Melissa Makuwe, Nonkosi Dingani, Ropafadzo Rangayi, Ruvarashe Matsvayi, Prudence Chikaka and Leanne Max.
