Platinum skipper warns teammates

HARARE - FC Platinum captain Petros Mhari has warned his teammates against complacency when they take on struggling Harare City in the Chibuku Super Cup finals at Mandava Stadium on Sunday.

The Zvishavane miners are currently enjoying a good run of form in the Castle Premiership and have already secured a top four finish while Harare City are wallowing in the relegation zone.

Mhari, who has been outstanding since being handed the captain’s armband after Norman Mapeza took over as coach from Lloyd Mutasa, said City cannot be underrated.

“This is a cup final, it is different from any other game. Anyone can win can on the day. There is no second chance,” goalkeeper Mhari told the Daily News yesterday.

Platinum beat City twice in the league, but Mhari was not looking too much into that piece of statistic.

“They are not a small team, they will be looking to end a bad season on a high,” he said.
