Choral group launches album

HARARE - His Presence Ministries International (HPMI) choral group, His Musik, launched their second album — Towdah (Sacrifice of Praise) at a colourful ceremony in Harare on Saturday.

Aptly titled Towdah (Sacrifice of Praise), the 11-track album speaks to the inherent passion that emanates from the conviction carried through each song, lyric line, and melody.

Rorisang Makawa, leader of His Musik told the Daily News on the sidelines of the launch that she is expecting the album to leave a mark on the market.

“We spent a lot of time working on this album and I am confident it will thrill many people out there. We worked hard to compose and arrange the songs — I am sure everyone will love the music,” said Makawa.

“It is our goal, to unite people and minister to them through our music and through this album, we shall achieve that. Towdah means Sacrifice of Praise so we teach people to praise the Lord through this album.”

The group treated HPMI congregants to an amazing day with live music from the album at the launch. Church founder and leader Apostle Charles Chiriseri echoed Makawa’s views on the album saying the vision was to strengthen people in the country through music.

“We believe music plays an important part in every society; it is actually a pillar that bonds any society, which is why we are grooming the choir and helping them in every way we can.

“Our first album didn’t have the sort of impact we had hoped for but with this one, we hired experienced producers like MacDee (Macdonald Chidavaenzi), to have a quality product on the market,” Chiriseri said.
