Flame Lilly march on

HARARE - A first half goal from Prosper Chinyama was all Flame Lilly needed to remain on top of World Navi Northern Region Division One Soccer League after edging Commando here yesterday.

With the win the Zimbabwe Prison Service side remains on top position with 65 points, one ahead of Gunners, who beat Black Mambas 2-0 yesterday.

Flame Lily coach Nesbert Saruchera praised his charges and insists that their chances of winning to the Castle Premiership next season are now high with three games to go before the end of the season.

“I think our chances of winning the title are now very high with three games remaining before the end of the season,” Saruchera said.

“We need to win all our remaining games. I always say to my boys that at this stage there is no room to underrate any team.

“We just need to play our normal game and as the log leaders we need maintain our winning ways to remain on top position.

His opposite number Wilson Kabango said: “I think Flame Lily was a better team today they deserve to win this game but the performance of my boys was not bad. Wemissed various chances in the last minutes of the game we could have equalised.”
