Gunners target Yadah TV Cup

HARARE - World Navi Northern Region Division One Soccer League side, Gunners have set their sights on winning the inaugural Yadah TV Super 8 tournament and are confident of beating Mushowani in a semi-final match at Gwanzura Stadium tomorrow.

The Zimbabwe 2009 champions appear to have their confidence back after winning their last league match 2-0 against Starbill.

“This is our cup, we are going to win this tournament nothing can stop us,” Gunners coach Kudakwashe Musaraure told the Daily News yesterday

“We just need to approach the game with positive mind and get a result because the nature of a Cup tournament is that a team will not get a second chance to correct their mistakes.

“We have a good side which can face any team at the moment I am proud of my boys they are playing well.”

Gunners are currently on the second position on the log standing with 63 points, one point behind Flame Lilly with four games before the end the season.

However, despite sitting on the second position Musaraure is confident of winning the title.

“We are very confident of winning the title, this is our year we don’t want to put ourselves under unnecessary pressure we need to play our normal game in the remaining matches,” he said.

“We are working very hard and we only need to win to remain focused. God’s time is the best and I think this is our time to win the promotion ticket but I told my boys that we need to remain focused.”

In the Zifa Southern Region Division One, log leaders Technosphere face second-placed Tsholotsho in a potential explosive top of the table clash.

The two teams have same points, however Technosphere boost of superior goal difference.

Zifa Central Region Division One soccer league champions Whawha are set to clash with second placed Midlands State University in their last match of the season at home.

The Zimbabwe Prison Service side was the first lower division team to secure promotion into the top flight league for next season as the rest of the other divisions are yet to conclude their program.
