JJ lives to fight another day

HARARE - He might not be the favourite among Big Brother Hotshots housemates, but JJ has charmed Africa.

The Zimbabwean survived the axe on Sunday thanks to a strong showing on the back of support by five countries.

During the whole of last week, Africa frantically voted for JJ resulting in him garnering the highest country votes, getting his head off the chopping block.

Esther (Uganda), Lillian (Nigeria) and Sabina (Tanzania) were evicted in the second week.

JJ received five country votes, Tayo received three country votes, and Permithias received two country votes.

Three housemates received one country vote each, which means that the tie breaker rule came into effect, and two housemates received no country votes.

So far, all the evicted housemates have been female, reducing the number of women in the house.

Last week, JJ had looked on course to wave goodbye to $300 000 after being nominated for eviction.

Most housemates had blamed him for losing their task and felt he deserved the boot.

JJ still has a lot to do despite surviving Sunday’s nomination.

But two weeks he had looked very safe when compatriot — Butterphly — had been elected for the axe.

Fears were abound that the Power FM disc jockey would not survive given her poor start to her campaign.

She polled the least number of votes — 44, 4 percent upon entering the house — raising genuine fears that she would not last the distance.

But week three in the house — both Zimbabwean housemates live to fight another day.
