Outgoing Ms Zim gutted

HARARE - The 2013 Ms Zimbabwe winner, Lurdes “Iron Lady” Moura is disappointed that she will not be able to defend her title this evening owing to a current medical condition.

Moura was victorious at last year’s Ms Zimbabwe return after a five-year hiatus.

She beat Regina Jonga into second place at the contest held at Harare International School but will not be part of the cast this evening.

“Unfortunately I won’t be competing due to medical reasons but I will be back for next year’s competition,” Moura told the Daily News yesterday.

“I’m frustrated that I’m missing out. I wanted to hold onto that title for as long as I could but like I said I will fight again.

“I’m currently suffering from depression and the medication that I take has got side effects causing me not to have the body conditioning that I would need.”

With Moura ruled out for the competition, the door has been opened for Jonga, who will be main contender for the Ms Zimbabwe title tonight.

Other female bodybuilders set to compete this evening include Hellen Costa and Precious Mujuru.

Some of the sponsors who have committed to partnering the National Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (NFZBBF) in tonight’s contest include Kingsport, Zimpost, Kariba Drill, Electro Sales, Crystal Candy, Kutaura Enterprises, Evox, Nutritech, Perspectives as well as individuals Brian Mussa and two identified only as P. Shar and Wang.
