Technosphere assume pole position

HARARE - Technosphere moved to the top of the Zifa Southern Region Division One league after walloping former Premiership side Quelaton 5-1 over the weekend.

Technosphere now lead the log standings with 42 points while last weekend’s log leaders Black Boots als have the same points.

Black Boots, however, have an inferior goal difference to that of Technosphere.

Black Boots’ match against Old Nic Mine was abandoned over the weekend with the later protesting against a decision to award a goal to the police outfit.

At that point, Black Boots were leading the match 2-1 before the abandonment.

The Southern Region title race continues to be a ding-dong affair and there are still more than five teams who have a realistic chance of winning the promotion ticket with five games before the season ends.

The race is now between Technosphere, Black Boots, Tsholotsho, Plumtree Chiefs, Ntabazinduna and ZPC Hwange.

In Zifa Central Region Division One, Whawha maintained their pole position at the top of the log after beating Chemumvuri Pirates 3-0.

The Zimbabwe Prison Service side now lead the log standing with 49 points, one ahead of Midlands State University (MSU), who beat Blanket Mine 2-1.

In World Navi Northern Region Division One Soccer League, Bindura United maintained pressure on the leading pack after beating former Premiership side Black Mambas now ZRP 2-1 on Sunday.
