Mazaikana wins Mr Manicaland title

MUTARE - Brighton Mazaikana is now eyeing the Mr Zimbabwe and Musclemania Zimbabwe contests after winning the Mr Manicaland title at Courtland Theatre on Saturday.

It is going to be a hectic two weeks for the bodybuilding community as the Musclemania Zimbabwe contest is set for this Saturday at the Hapizen Plaza in Hatfield.

The on October 18, the stage will be set for the big one when the Mr Zimbabwe contest takes place at the Harare International School in Mt Pleasant.

An elated Mazaikana, who also came second at the inaugural Morondera Classics two weeks ago, has set his sight n making a big impression at the forthcoming contests.

“I’m now training for Musclemania Zimbabwe and Mr Zimbabwe contests where l hope to take the awards,” Mazaikana told the Daily News yesterday.

“I want to be among the top three nationally. Personally, I’m not afraid of competition and would have even loved to compete against even guys from Botswana but that was not my call.

“I went in to win all the same and also show my fans and sponsors how much I’m progressing.”

At the moment, Mazaikana, who weighs 102kg, is receiving financial support from his personal Canaan Matiashe.

With more sponsors the newly crowned Mr Manicaland feels he can conquer the world.

“This is a very expensive sport and you need a lot of food and supplements to repair and build your muscles,” he said.
