Buffaloes Junior back on top

HARARE - Buffaloes Juniors returned to the top of the Zifa Eastern Region Division One log standings after for their walk-over victory over Chivhu Stars at the weekend.

Chihvu Stars failed to travel for the match that was scheduled for Sakubva Stadium on Sunday.

Last weekend’s log leaders Mutare City failed to consolidate their lead after they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Tenax.

Buffaloes Junior now lead the log standing with 52 points, one ahead of Mutare City.

In the World Navi Northern Region division one, Black Mambas sailed through to the semi-finals Yadah TV Super 8 Tournament after beating Flame Lily 4-3 after a penalty shootout victory.

The match had ended with two teams tied 2-2 in regulation time.

Black Boots maintained their stronghold at the summit of the Zifa Southern Region Division One log standings despite playing to a goalless draw against Plumtree Chiefs.

Black Boots now lead the log standings with 39 points, two ahead of Ndabazintuna, who failed to utilise the log leaders slip up, as they could only draw 0-0 against Elephant.
