Zanu PF pestering us for economic advice — Chamisa

MASVINGO - Nelson Chamisa, the MDC organising secretary, has said Zanu PF officials were pestering opposition officials in the corridors of Parliament, seeking advice on how to revive Zimbabwe’s collapsing economy.

The former ICT minister told his party’s 15th anniversary at Mucheke Stadium on Saturday that Zanu PF officials have admitted that they have no solutions to save the economy.

“Zanu PF is clueless on what to do with this crumbling economy,” Chamisa told a bumper crowd that turned out for the rally.

“We are now facing torrid times at Parliament with Zanu PF ministers in the pavements. They follow us secretly when we go to the toilets and ask for some advice and ideas to fix the economy.”

He said Zanu PF was aware of the MDC’s ability to run the economy, saying the inclusive government recorded economic growth that was reversed when Zanu PF won an exclusive mandate to run the country in 2013.

“They know that we can run the country’s economy that’s why they are following us even to the toilets at Parliament but we have resolved not to help them,” he said.

“Let them do it for themselves and we will see if they can fix it.”

He said Zanu PF was failing to provide the 2 million  jobs it promised in its election manifesto.

There has been accelerated de-industrialisation since Zanu PF’s poll victory.

Chamisa said MDC and its leader, Morgan Tsvangirai were key to economic revival. “Zanu PF has no capacity to revive the industry and create jobs for millions of struggling Zimbabweans,” Chamisa said.

A smart leader follows the lead of the people, which ZANU PF did not do in the past but because things got out of hand they are desperately seeking help according to Chamisa. When you have someone who is clueless but you know what to do you lead them. If the guy follows him to the toilet he simply tells him a buzz word and a couple sentences. An example is, "Open Economy." When he starts asking questions now is the time to set up consultative meetings. But the ZANU PF MP may go to their senior officials and tell of Chamisa's ideas. Of course RGM would want to hear in detail. Cooperation goes a long way, look at Jonathan Moyo, a hater of ZANU PF (wrote quite a bit criticizing Mugabe and ZANU PF) when he was at UZ. He even tried a coup but if I remember correctly he is a member of the Politburo. Last month Mugabe chastised him about how he is running his assigned ministry. but JM is still here achitonga. Kana wava mupolitics wotoita sepfambi. Ane mari wokumura, ati mahara oti tinozorara mangwana. Only as fool passes these type of opportunities and I believe Chamisa is not a fool. He is also clueless because if he knew he would be singing the music but not in greater detail.

Rugare Gumbo of ZANU PF described economic dialogue irrelevant as they had won the 2013 elections.ZANU PF are merely interested in power without due care to the country's problems . Some genuinely patriotic ministers with no say secretly ask MDC T officials to help. Chamisa's very true facts do not go down well with ZANU PF's blind supporters who shamelessly denounced recent demonstrations for jobs. Why should we expect MDC T to solve the country's problems yet we don't want them to rule this country? It is simply ZANU PF who are not co operating.

I believe Chamisa's statement that ZANU PF legislators do follow them to the toilets to ask for suggestions as to how to turn around the economy. They can not set up meetings lest they be labelled sell outs working with the opposition, and we all know what befalls such persons. These are guys without the slightest clue who for a brief moment during the GNU were beginning to warm up to the good steady life almost similar to that they enjoyed soon after Independance when they were basking in the after glow of what had been left behind by the Rhodesian government. They have since looted everything, ran everything into the ground and spat in the Donor community's face who have been propping them up right from the start. The 'all weather friends from the east' have also not been as forthcoming with ways to bail them out, so who better to turn to than the powerful opposition who have a track record of raising peoples' standards of living during the GNU?

Dr Know - 17 September 2014

Aya ndoo anonzi manyepo chaiwo nemufana wangu Chamisa, only fools can ask for advice from failed party members of MDC T.They failed to intergrate their party members into one formidable opposition force hence this granule disintergration till today. Pliz don't lie to Povo if you have nothing to say,MDC T is dead and buried becoz of Tsvangirai's inabilities and his bootlicking guys like Chamisa and others. As we speak ZANU PF is now preparing groundwork for 2018 by clinching investment deals with Russia and China vanaShorayi vachingoshora hameno kuti vanosvika riinhi vachingoshora chete.Just wait and see musazoti yabira maElections when the time come bcoz isu vanhu tirikuona zvose.

The MDC has done a great job in the GNU. Look right now the ZPF is struggling to make us live good. THE SITUATION IS LIKE OF 2008
