Young Sables seek Kenya revenge

HARARE - Zimbabwe's Under-19 rugby team will be hoping to inflict revenge on Kenya when they face off this afternoon in a Confederation of African Rugby Group 1A semi-final tie at the Hage Geigngob Stadium in Namibia.

In last year’s tournament, the East Africans beat their Zimbabwean counterparts.

Zimbabwe will likely to bank on their pack of forward pack which has lot of ball carriers, particularly skipper and prop Thabani Mujeni as well as eighthman Newton Tanyanyiwa. These two give good forward ball.

They are also likely to be also used to neutralise Kenya’s threat upfront.

The Young Sables also have strong fetchers in the resemblance of flank Ivan Bawden, who is a menace on the deck and always contest everything at the breakdown. His skills might come in handy this afternoon as they will need to return the ball a lot as their backs thrive a lot on clean ball.

Tinashe Gwisai and Tafadzwa Mukonyora are favourates to pair at half back. Coach Nsikelelo Sibanda likely to go for pace for his back three with Jabulani Mutukwa at fullback while Tawanda Ngosi  and Sean Coles will rove the wings.

The winner of the tournament qualifies for the next edition of the IRB World Junior Trophy.
