Soldiers Buffaloes, Rhinos in draw

MUTARE - Buffaloes and Black Rhinos cancelled each other out in a pulsating contest here which ended 2-2 on Sunday.

Pick of the crop was the home side's second goal off Jeffrey Takunda's boot.

Takunda's 58th minute long range thunderbolt had the whole stadium on its feet.

It had Buffaloes in front against an impressive Chipembere.

The visitors had threatened to bag all three points with a 41st minute lead from the spot through Wilson Chakanyuka.

Buffaloes were level on the 47th minute courtesy of Muzokomba.

Takunda was then to unleash the 58th minute screamer Rhinos coach Mathuthu described as a rare sight in local football.

Frederick Marowa then equalised for Buffaloes on 73 minutes.

Meanwhile, Mandla Dingani in Hwange reports that an Alick Marime penalty and a fine header by second half substitute Gilbert Zulu rubbed more salt in the wound of crisis-ridden Chiredzi.

Marime opened the scoring for the hosts from the spot early in the second half, easily beating Chiredzi goalkeeper Brighton Chipuwa.

Zulu sealed victory three minutes from time with a header.
