Relief for Kaindu as Bosso finally win

BULAWAYO - Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu was a relieved man yesterday after his side got back to winning ways in the Castle Premiership against Triangle in Bulawayo yesterday.

Bosso had gone for four league games without collecting maximum points.

Chief striker Charles Sibanda also broke his duck with the solitary goal yesterday following weeks of goal drought by the former Soccer Star of the Year winner.

“It was quite a difficult game, at least we managed to score. What is important is that we managed to collect maximum points,” Kaindu said.

“It was a dull match, we created chances in the first 15 minutes but we failed to bury them.”

Both teams finished the match with 10 men after referee Thembinkosi Sibanda issued two red cards for second bookable offences to defender Jimmy Tigere and midfielder Pasca Manhanga for Triangle and Highlanders respectively.

The two were sent off in a space of three minutes with 12 minutes of the match remaining.

In the first half, Bosso created several chances and had the lion’s share of possession.

Sibanda scored on 24 minutes after collecting a pass from Manhanga before coolly slotting past Triangle goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu.

Highlanders somewhat lost their rhythm early in the second half, but hung on to their lead despite numerous raids by Triangle.

“We did very well in all departments, but I think their player scored from an off-side position,” said Triangle coach Biggie Zuze.

It has now become common with these referees to do these things. Imagine the referee added only one minute after full time after all the stoppages.”
