Murape Murape, Mutuma suspended

HARARE - Dynamos have suspended club captain Murape Murape and striker Rodrick Mutuma following a training ground bust-up on Tuesday.

The record Zimbabwean champions have experienced turbulent times lately with a player strike over unpaid bonuses culminating in weekend’s ouster from the Chibuku Super Cup at the
hands of Black Rhinos.

Remarkably, Mutuma also courted controversy in that match after a fist-fight with Rhinos’ Obey Gada.

The striker’s chequered disciplinary record worsened on Tuesday when he clashed with Murape after apparently failing to agree on whether the players should accept partial payment
from the club. “We wrote both of them a letter saying ‘you guys fought, you have been suspended and we are calling you to a disciplinary hearing at the National Sports Stadium on
September 4 at 12:30’,” club chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said.

“We want to send the message that Dynamos is a big brand. We don’t want these things happening.”

Mubaiwa also claimed order has been restored at the Glamour Boys and that players wrote an apology letter for “not using proper channels to communicate.”

He said: “The letter was signed by Murape but we said ‘go to the papers and give them this letter like you did last week when you gave them your grievances’, so that it doesn’t
look like the letter is coming from us.”
