Gunners held, stay top

HARARE - World Navi Northern Region Division One Soccer pacesetters Gunners maintained their position on top of the standings despite being held to a one-all draw by Seven Flames on Saturday.

Second-placed Flame Lilly failed to take advantage of Gunner’s draw to go top after they were also held to a goalless draw by league debutants Ngezi Platinum.

Gunners now lead the log standings with 42 points, one point ahead of second-placed Flame Lilly.

The 2009 Zimbabwean champions began their campaign this season on a positive note, winning 12 games, drawing six and losing only one.

Seasoned campaigners Twalumba continued with their poor form after playing out a goalless draw with Karoi United.

Twalumba are currently in third position from the bottom of the log with 19 points.

Mushowani’s mini-revival was cut short after drawing nil all with perennial campaigners DC Academy.
