Former Joyous Celebration singer releases debut

HARARE - Former Joyous Celebration singer, Dudu Tsobane has released her debut album, This Season and has embarked on a rigorous marketing drive in preparation for her debut concert in the country since exiting the group last year.

Tsobane who is a South African national has been part of the group for nine years, only leaving to pursue her own career.

Peter Pedro Patisani who is marketing the singer said they want to expand Tsobane’s fan base beyond South Africa, moving into other countries within the region.

“We wish to bring her here before the end of the year to make sure people know her. We are also working towards radio promotions and we are currently in talks with the local radio stations.”

He said they are also running competitions which will enable fans to access the album, or part of it.

“What I do is post questions and whoever manages to answer them will be linked to Dudu’s song. This is in a bid to make sure that she develops her own fan base in Zimbabwe. We also share tasks and whoever manages to complete those tasks will.

“She joined the choir when she was 19 and she has decided to pursue her own career. She has a 12 track album out and we are marketing it through the social networks. I am very active on the social networks and we are running competitions."
