CAPS lose hotly disputed match

HWANGE - CAPS United yesterday missed a rare chance to go top of the Castle Premiership after losing 2-1 to Hwange yesterday in a controversy-marred match here.

Eight CAPS players received yellow cards for over-protesting.

Both teams ended the game with 10 men after Nicholas Alifandika and Aleck Marime were sent off for CAPS and Hwange respectively.

To add to the hullabaloo, Hardlife Zvirekwi had his last minute equaliser disallowed by Mali, who came under fire from Mangwiro for poor officiating.

With that defeat, CAPS have slipped to fifth position on the Premiership log.

Three goals were scored in the first half with the penalties awarded to both Hwange and CAPS hotly disputed.

Alick Marime rediscovered his scoring touch with a well struck volley while Takabva Mawaya scored from the spot for Hwange to give the miners a two nil lead.

CAPS replied with a goal from the spot-kick by Honey Chimutimunzeve.

The second half was delayed 13 minutes after Mali dished eight yellow cards to CAPS players for entering the pitch through an unauthorised entry. Alifandika was shown a red card in the ensuing melee.

Deep in injury time, Hwange scorer Marime saw red for using foul language against the CAPS bench.

Dembare iteam yedu rova ngoma usekerere. Chakabvondoka pa B/ F mangwana H/Landers be wary of Dembare becaz B/F it is also our home ground. I just wanted to air my personal opinion on the Kepe Kepe game yesterday @ the Colliery. Dynamos played if not one or two games that were not officiated fairly our rivals quickly rubbished aside our complains, But now its on yo side Caps United what a bitter pill to swallow taste yo own medicine. Officiating of our local Football sometimes it leaves a lot to be desired they kill the spirit of the players to express themselves in the field of play. ZIFA & PSL should sit down for the good of our local league. Pleasant Holliday to u all. A. Mbeyo
