Restore sanity at Chingwizi

EDITOR — The situation at Chingwizi Transit Camp is now deplorable. Government should come up with a solution to the crisis as a matter of urgency.

Sporadic outbursts of violence undermine efforts to successfully relocate the affected people as well as the law enforcement agencies.

Government should be honest in its dealings with the Tokwe-Mukorsi flood victims.

It’s their livelihood at stake!

Why are people being denied food for resisting to be relocated without compensation? Innocent young boys and girls are on a daily basis exposed to HIV/Aids and other dangers of unimaginable proportions.

It is prudent that government takes this issue seriously rather than play political games. I appeal to the relevant authorities to act now to avert calamity.

Government should compensate the affected families fairly. Moreover, they should not let such situations get out of hand in future because many people end up losing their lives.
