'Karuru hungry for success'

JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs right back Siboniso Gaxa said that newly recruited striker Ovidy Karuru has shown that he yearns to be part of the Amakhosi set-up and that he is motivated at the prospect of winning silverware at Chiefs.

The Siya crew revealed on Wednesday, July 30 that the Zimbabwean had penned a deal at Naturena which would see him with the Soweto giants for three years, with the club announcing the deal a week later.

Gaxa said that he admires the 25-year-old and that he has been doing well thus far at the club.

“From what I have seen at training, he is a good player. He played overseas. It’s not easy for some players to adapt quickly when joining a new team,” he told the Siya crew in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 882.

“Some players take time to adapt to a new environment but, like I said, he is a good player and I like what I saw from him.”

“Pa” as he is affectionately known in football circles also stated that Karuru is a player who is driven and wants to succeed.

“He has shown that hunger for success and really shown that he would like to be part of the team. He could help the team going forward,” Pa added. — Siya Crew
