Bosso aware of How Mine threat

HARARE - Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu says he is aware of the threat posed by wounded How Mine when the two teams clash in a potentially explosive Castle Premiership derby at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Going into Sunday’s match, Highlanders are on top of the log standing with 30 points, one above ZPC Kariba and Dynamos.

How Mine, who lost 1-0 to Black Rhinos last week, lie eight on the table.

Bosso reduced their gap on top of the standing after playing out a goalless draw against city rivals Bantu Rovers last weekend.

“We have to be more cautious going into this game as you know How Mine will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways,” Kaindu told the Daily News yesterday.

“Preparations for the game are going on well and I think everyone will be ready on Sunday.

“We always respect every team in the league, for this one it’s a derby and you know derbies are always difficult.

“Like last weekend, the performance of the boys against Bantu Rovers was not bad but derby games are very difficult to win.”

The Zambian hinted his side will employ a more attacking approach in Sunday’s match.

“We are an attacking team, thus why you see everyone in our team is able to score.”

For the past two seasons, Bosso have always found themselves in a similar good position in the first two thirds of the season only to falter in the dying stages. However, Kaindu insists Bosso have learnt something from the past two seasons of heartbreak.

“Our aim is to maintain our position on top of the standing, we just need to pray and everything is possible with God,” said the former Bosso midfielder.

“I told my boys that we need to take each game as it comes and remain focused but generally I am happy with the performance of the boys this season,” added Kaindu.
