MDC rebels unveil signature party colour

HARARE - The Tendai Biti-led rebels have officially adopted the orange colour as the party’s official colour.

Jacob Mafume, spokesperson for the renewal team, told a news conference after a national working committee meeting at the weekend, that his party has adopted the orange colour.

“A lot of issues were discussed by the national working committee and among those was the adoption of a new colour. We agreed on the need of rebranding and we adopted orange,” Mafume said.

“Orange is the colour of social democrats all over the world. It signals the renewal of things or ripening of a process. It signifies the dawn of a new era.”

Mafume claimed Zimbabweans have warmly welcomed the four-month-old movement.

“We held successful meetings in Midlands, Harare and Bulawayo,” he said.

“On Sunday, we will be in Mutare and from there on, we are going to Matabeleland North as we engage with the structures and see who is still with us.

“We now have structures in UK, Canada, Australia and USA. Many people are interested in the renewal agenda.”

The renewal team spokesperson said the committee reviewed negotiations for a grand coalition.

“Negotiations are currently underway and I can’t disclose anything at the moment,” Mafume said.

You forgot to say the new party name

They can't name the party because then that would prove that they are a different party to MDC-T which would give Tsvangirayi the all-clear to recall all those MPs linked to this nameless group. Even the house speaker will have no choice but to accept MDC-T's position.

The go to different provinces and forget that they have to gunner support for their nameless party. They hope for grand coalition which will take them nowhere as no one wants to be taken for a ride.

Awa ndiwo madofo akaenda kuchikoro. This makes other parents shun sending their kids to school as they may not see the difference. You do not need a rocket scientist to see that you are getting lost. Three years down the line they shall be in oblivion.

“I said if you continue I will tell you that you (Sipepa Nkomo) took someone's wife when you are an elder in church. I will also tell you that you (Tendai Biti) left Harare saying you were going to Nyanga but later got involved in an accident in Chegutu while in the company of a girlfriend,” Tsvangirai said - See more at:

Tsvangirai's spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka was however having none of this codswallop and hit back saying, “Whatever President Tsvangirai did, he was a widower. He is now happily married to his wife, Elizabeth. As for President Mugabe, he has no right to lecture anyone on morals. “This is a man who, as President of the country, had a child with his secretary while his wife, Sally, was dying of a kidney ailment. His eldest daughter, Bona, is a child he had with his private secretary while his wife was terminally ill.” - See more at:

Why don't Biti and his fellow zealots call Chamatama's bluff and challenge him in the ring at Congress? Orange also denotes great courage.

One of BITI's men masqueraded as a Christian&became a church elder before running away with a certain church member's wife.Biti himself with a girlfriend, had a car accident in Chegutu after lying to his wife that he had to attend a meeting in Nyanga. Today there is a serious leadership fight in the 'renewal team'&these are the democrats we are expected to follow. RUBBISH!!!!
