Donated computers lying idle: Mugabe

HARARE - President Robert Mugabe has accused some rural schools of lying to him that their institutions were electrified, prompting him to donate computers which are now lying idle.

Delivering the keynote address yesterday in Harare at the launch of the Capacity Development Programme for Teachers, the 90-year-old leader intimated that some schools took him for a ride.

“We donated computers under the presidential computerisation programme so that our students can effectively exploit them to research,” he said.

“I know that in some rural schools in places such as Matabeleland North the computers were locked away and are lying idle.

“They cheated us saying they had electricity and we donated computers and they couldn’t use them. But I do hope that they are gradually electrifying.”

With all the security apparatus they use to terrorise innocent civilians, they didnt have the intelligence to know where there is no electricity in the country? Is there no minister for ZESA? Minister for Rural Development etc? All these people could have confirmed something so simple. Mugabe is just incompetent and he attracts incompetent people around him.

No,Mr.President nobody cheated you! You are supposed to know; NOT to be told about ZESA development in the country. We once saw you in an electrified train which is now useless & you pretend you were cheated about ZESA in rural Mat North.Stop your usual blame game.

I have always said Mugabe is in the diaspora and occassionaly visits Zimbabwe for functions and events like this but noone believed me. Now tell me a President who says there is no corner of Zimbabwe he doesn't know (Interview with Sky News in 2007 when he said we had plenty maize for consumption so we did not need any donations), now tell me he doesn't know that electricity is not available in Zimbabwe. I thought leaders had advisers but his or he is now proving that he is very ignorant even worse than Tsvangirayi he said he didn't know that he was but now I have all facts that it is him who is a VVIP and he is worse because he does not know that he is.

Surely Mr. President tipeiwo maserious, you were cheated?????, about electrification in some rural schools leading you to donate computers. That now explains why the country is at crossroads, without a clue of which way to turn, the highest office fooled by peasants is worse than the peasants, what would one expect from such a president.
