Young Sables date Eastern Province in opener

MIDDLEBURG - Zimbabwe Under-18 rugby team will be hoping for a bright start to this year’s Coca-Cola Craven Week when they take on highly-rated Eastern Province Country District this morning.

The class of 2014 will be hoping they can illuminate last year’s sides heroics.

Last year's team played some text book rugby, finishing fifth out of 20 teams, the highest any Zimbabwe side has finished.

Head coach Godwin “Jaws” Murambiwa was in a buoyant mood about his youthful side's telling the Daily News: “This year we have a relatively a young side. We are targeting to win our first game."

The Young Sables will likely bank on their potent back three of Tawanda Ngosi, Tarasai Mapfumo and Brian Muriyengwa, who have blistering pace.

The trio can be handful for on a good day and have silky skills.

It’s likely to be a intriguing encounter.
