Don't take Biti seriously: Mthwakazi

BULAWAYO - Secessionist outfit Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) has launched a tirade against breakaway MDC renewal team, advising the people in Matabeleland not to take the team seriously.

The fringe secessionist party claims Tendai Biti’s renewal team is a source of confusion in the region.

In pamphlets seen by the Daily News circulating here, MRP says the Biti-led party is attempting to gain public sympathy.

“We would like to advice our people not to take the so called renewal team seriously because it is here to confuse us as the people of Matabeleland,” MRP president Mqondisi Moyo said.

Moyo said it would be a fatal mistake to view the so-called renewal team led by Biti as a better party.

“They are here to divert our attention; they are not in any case better than Tsvangirai, they are even worse,” he said.  “If they were sincere they would have left MDC-T in 2005 when the MDC split.  Why now?”

Moyo said the former Finance minister should be best advised that Matabeleland was no playground for any emerging political party hunting for numbers.

Biti together with his renewal team mates were recently in Bulawayo conducting what they termed a meet the structure meeting.

This is their first foray into the city ever since they peeled away from MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

The rebels are also working on conducting a similar outreach programme in Midlands, Matabeleland North and South provinces that MRP considers as its territory under the Mthwakazi tag.

The fliers read: “Honourable Biti leave us alone. We don’t want you to come here to cry more than the bereaved. Biti and company are wolfs in sheep skin who are just here to impress their donors at the expense of people. We say enough is enough this is not your play ground.”

During their recent meeting in the city, the rebels reportedly told their supporters that if voted into power, they would roll out a compensation programme for Gukurahundi victims.

“Biti and Mangoma were all in government during the GNU and the two of them did nothing with regard to Gukurahundi other than former minister (Moses) Mzila-Ndlovu who fought a lonely battle. Maybe Biti and Mangoma can tell us why now?”

Its not true, Biti's renewal party could grow to become a strong political party and perhaps one day lead the country. zanu evolved over a period of time to be what it is today. Dont take moyo seriously as well. Give Biti a chance.

What is this it a Wing from MDC-T Party????..i believe they must show their quality by campaigning for the freedom of Matebeland agenda...not to mix their actions with MDC-T........

Zvirozviyedzwa, only in dreams will Biti ever be a leader. Just imagine his face, and you will see that it has a very clear language of dishonesty and full of selfness. Beside, he is not intelligent. Because what type of a person, beside a fool, can dive into a pool where Welshman Ncube has gone first and is evidently drowning? If he were handsome. I would have thought that may be a few women may fall for him and join his cause. Now, I just cannot fathom.

A futile attempt by the daily news to quote a useless gang , with no following at all just to spruce up the dead and buried open zip shut mind Tsvancry.

Mthawakazi? who are they, a bunch of misguided individuals we don't care a hoot about what they say or do forward with leadership renewal

Nyamhangambiri - 14 July 2014

The Mthwakazi gang are just the same as Biti's group. They are both break away parties trying hard to gain popularity over trivial issues. They should know their dream of secession will never come true. They are just out to get symphathy and some donor funds along their futile campaign. Zimbabwe will always be one nation and real change will get us to the New Zimbabwe we want.

A case of the pot calling the kettle black. Mthwakazi and the Renewal Team are just the same side of the coin- Chancers/Opportunists.
