Chaminuka cries foul

HARARE - ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka blasted referee Nomore Musundire for showing him a red card in a Castle Premiership match with Chiredzi FC which ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Chaminuka was incensed with Chadya’s decision show a second yellow card to winger Luckmore Makura for diving in the 40th minute.

The ZPC coach was then involved in a heated argument with the fourth official over the sending off and as a result Chadya also gave the Chaminuka his marching orders.

“We should have won this game but the referee decided to help Chiredzi,” Chaminuka said after the match.

“The referee spoiled the good match and how can we develop, everyone is crying to see good football in the near future but with this kind of officiating we are going backwards

“I’m not happy with this kind of officiating we have prepared for this match and someone came and threw out all that hard work we had done.”

Chiredzi coach Moses Chunga did not see any wrong in Chadya’s conduct.

“I think the officiating was not bad, it will become a problem if you want to be a coach and also the referee,” he said.

“I don’t want to talk more about this because the referee has the powers. For the match I’m happy with the performance of my boys.

“We only need to normalise our things so that so that we concentrate on football only.”

After the drama in the first half, the visitors took the lead immediately after the break when Wellington Kamudyariwa converted a 48th minute penalty.

Chiredzi were awared the spot kick after Ephraim Mwinga had brought down David Temwanjira inside the box.

The home side equalised seven minutes later through Artwel Nyamiwa’s clinical strike from inside the box.
