Mushipe to exhibit in Byo, Hre

HARARE - Gweru-based sculptor Forbes Mushipe believes his exhibitions at the National Art Galleries in Bulawayo and Harare in August are perfect platforms to showcase the high quality of his creative works.

The Zambian-bred artist, who has won three consecutive National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) in the mixed media category, will exhibit in Bulawayo in August and in the capital city in September alongside another Nama winner Israel Israel.

Mushipe told the Daily News yesterday that he was delighted to have finally got the opportunity to show why he has won many awards.

“Most of my critics have questioned why I have scooped Nama awards for the past three years and am happy because these doubting Thomases now have the chance to see my works at close quarters,” he said.

“I am confident with the quality of my works. That is why I am encouraging people to come in big numbers to view my works,” he said.
