Buffaloes Juniors back on top

HARARE - Buffaloes Juniors side returned to the top spot of Zifa Eastern Region Division One log standing after beating Gutu 2-0 at the weekend.

The Mutare-based side now lead the log standing with 24 points, one ahead of second-placed Eastern Stars.

Eastern Stars, who were on top of the log last week, could forever live to rue their goalless draw against Black Eagles that saw them slip to second position.

Tongogara stayed in pole position in the Zifa Central Region Division One League after beating Blanket United 1-0.

The Kwekwe-based outfit now lead the log standing with 23 points, three ahead of second-placed Whawha.

In the Zifa Southern Region Division One league, Ntabazintuna kept their promotion hopes despite the 1-2 defeat to Trumus.

Agent Sawu’ charges top the log standing with 24 points, four ahead of Tsholotsho, who beat ZPC Hwange 1-0.

Eastern Region: Mutare Poly 1 Renco Mine 1, Tenax 2 FC Three Leaves 2, Gaza Gunners 0 Masvingo United 2, Surrey Abattoirs 2 Mwenezana 5, Chihvu Stars 2 Ruwa United 2, ZRP Masvingo 2 Mutare City Rovers 6, Buffalo Junior 2 Gutu 0, Eastern Stars 0 Black Eagles 0
