Mugabe health concerns: Who doesn't get sick?

EDITOR — After a lot has been said and written about President Robert Mugabe’s ill health, my mind is left with a big question, who on this earth does not get ill?

Every human being gets sick at one point or the other in his/her life. What differs is the manner in which a person is attacked by these ailments as well as time and date of occurrence.

It is public knowledge that president Mugabe suffers from eye problems.

I believe that this ailment is a chapter that can be dealt with if proper treatment is done.

Such a problem cannot stop him from performing his duties, and knowing as I do, this son of the soil will carry on with his duties as usual.

What then surprises me is the way some sections of the media go into frenzy each time Mugabe is said to be ill, without even verifying the claims.

What is out of this world about the president suffering from ailments that affect every other human being?

For God’s sake, Mugabe is 10 years shy of a century!

If anything, the fact that he is blessed with robust health often stands out as he is still more active than many people younger than him.

Who can boast that they do not fall sick?

The president is not the only high profile person to fall ill. MDC leader, Morgan Tsvangirai at one time had to seek the services of Prophet TB Joshua for an undisclosed ailment. The media were curiously silent.

Being ordinarily sick does not mean that an individual is incapacitated.

Mugabe remains a true visionary, revolutionary and inspirational leader.

To be a good leader does not require one to have Hercules’s muscles but a sound mind.

It is not in question that the president still possesses sound mental abilities; in fact he has been noted for his still remarkably sharp memory.

After reading the article "Who does not get sick?" I learnt that it was written by a wise and honest Zimbabwean because there is no person made of steel, we all shall at some point in time die. I think it's also normal that Tsvaingirai should get sick and telling lies that he flied without paying hospital bill shows sickness in the mind of the journalists and their accomplices. Shame, shame, shame !!!!
