Progress Chipfumo fails to pay $90 debt

HARARE - Talented guitarist and vocalist Progress Chipfumo has been hauled before the Harare Civil Court for failing to pay a $90 debt.

Chipfumo reportedly failed to pay Lucky Chipudla after he engaged him to make posters and banners for his show held in April last year.

Chipudla, who was claiming $173 from the musician, told magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi that Chipfumo promised to pay the money soon after the show but failed to do so.

He was demanding $60 for the posters, $30 for the banner and $83 for the telephone bill which he said he had incurred during the process.

“It is the money for the posters and the banner I made for the show he wanted to do in April 2013,” said Chipudla.

“He promised to pay me soon after the show but he was nowhere to be found. He has not paid anything so far and he has been avoiding me.”

Chipudla, however, failed to account for the $83 telephone bill, leading to Siwardi to scrap the demand.

Chipfumo denied owing Chipudla the amount he was claiming saying he was only aware of $60 for posters only.

“I know the $60 for posters but I am not aware of the $30 for a banner and his telephone bills,” he added.

The magistrate ordered Chipfumo to pay Chipudla $90 by the end of this month.

In total, magistrate Siwardi ordered Chipfumo to pay Chipudla $100, including the cost of the suit by May 30.

Its a fact you just need to be closer to these guys' lives and you know its not exaggeration, fine some element of dishonest and insincerity maybe there in some musicians but they really are living the life which always mistaken by their celebrity status.
