Tigers maul Lomagundi

HARARE - Prince Edward reduced Lomagundi College to mere spectators, beating them 28-0 in a one-sided encounter during yesterday’s action at the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival.

The Tigers’ quicksliver back line exhibited some silky skills as they kept the Chinhoyi-based side on the back foot. Tigers flyhalf Munashe Furamera was the pick of the day as he had a 100 percent ration kicking for post converting all four tries.

Lomagundi literally had no answers to the potent back and failed to disrupt them with their big pack forwards.

Furamera capped off a fine performance with a try. PE opened their account through a converted try by centre Tatanda Matoramusha.

They stretched their lead just before halftime through wing Beadsley Mabhenge, who ripped through Lomagundi’s defence into ribbons before planting the ball under the sticks.

Tigers wing Tristan Moses completed the rout with another exhilarating try.

In other games, Churchill made light work of LKC from Botswana, demolishing them 80-0. Watershed were held to a 10-10 draw by Gifford. Faded giants Plumtree were thrashed 50-7 by Windhoek Technical of Namibia. Peterhouse thumped Botswana Under-19,  54-0.
