Pokello has the last laugh

HARARE - Pokello Nare is one happy woman celebrating her engagement to Big Brother Africa — The Chase sweetheart Elikem from Ghana.

Pokello is celebrating on Twitter, directing messages to her “haters”.

Using the popular sayings that have rocked the social media, Pokello celebrated her pending nuptials to the Ghanaian tailor.

“Unobva washaya kuti vaya vano venga vano vengereyi. Wozonzwa zvichinzi mah*** haaroorwe. asi wozoona ring ichi pfekedzwa Wobva wazvishaya”.

Loosely translated it means “You hear people saying prostitutes will never get married, and later you will see them spotting an engagement ring.”

Pokello and Elikem’s relationship has been in the spotlight for a long time now and at one point there was a rumour that they had broken up due to Elikem’s “promiscuity”.

The socialite and entrepreneur has been tweeting nonstop details of the engagement.

On Sunday she tweeted, “I claim to have the best instincts and intuition but this time they let me down terribly!”

“Those who know me will tell you I’m very shy. I never saw such a proposal coming and I went numb because of where we were. All eyes on me!”

Elikem has after all honoured his promise to marry Pokello.

When he visited the country for the first time last year, he vowed to make an honest woman out of her.

“Of course I want to marry her, I love her. I just have to put together the money for lobola because I understand that Zimbabwean girls do not come cheap,” he said in an earlier interview with the Daily News.
