Jah Prayzah rocks Hifa

HARARE - Despite general talk that Jah Prayzah’s latest album Kumbumura Mhute is far below his standards, the towering dreadlocked artiste took the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) platform on Sunday afternoon to prove that he is still in the game.

He gave a polished act before a packed crowd at Hifa’s Telecel main stage much to the delight of his fans.

The Tsviriyo singer also used the platform to promote his latest album even though he only performed three songs including Kunobuda Zuva out of 10 tracks from the project.

Dressed in his usual military stage attire, Jah Prayzah, whose real name is Mukudzei Mukombe, performed Tsviriyo and Machembere from the award-winning album.

Indeed, his fans including children were happy to witness one of their favourite artistes on stage during the day, thanks to Hifa.

In Zimbabwe it is now difficult for children and women to witness local artistes performing during the day save for a few   gospel events because family shows meant for the day usually kick start late in the night.

Local promoters are attributing the blame to both artistes and fans for not being punctual, while fans blame the promoters and musicians.

Interestingly, on Sunday, Jah Prayzah was on the stage during his slot and the venue was packed.
